Designed for high schoolers, this fast-paced, hands-on adventure gives players a crash course in the chaos of real life, one year at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each turn throws new opportunities and curveballs your way. Will you chase a high-paying job, nurture friendships, develop new skills, or finally make time for yourself? You decide what matters most because in this game, your values shape your path. Players will analyze the impact of choices across four domains: Finances, Relationships, Hobbies, and Time. Simultaneously, players will practice risk assessment, long term planning, and adaptive problem solving skills in a dynamic, chance based environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Suggested Number of Players<\/strong>: 2-4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Duration<\/strong>: 25-30 minutes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Intended Audience<\/strong>: Students in High School and College and for anybody looking for an opportunity at new beginnings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Materials<\/strong>:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two six-sided dice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A standard deck of cards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aspects of Life tablet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Four unique token types (Quarters, Dimes, Nickels, Pennys)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Occupation deck (12 cards from a 2nd poker deck, 2 through K-any suit)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Event Deck Key<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Career Key for Occupation<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Set-Up<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each player receives Aspects of Life tablet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place tokens in the middle of the players, separated by color\/type<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place two dice in the middle of the players<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shuffle the deck of cards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Start with 2 tokens for each category other than Finance`<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take cards from a 2nd poker deck (Occupation deck), only 2 through K-any suit<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Rules<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Choose Your Path<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each player chooses a card from the Occupation deck and reads the corresponding prompt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Determine Starting Income<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each player rolls two six-sided dice (2d6).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your roll determines your annual income:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you roll 2-7 from Occupation Deck\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Roll 2\u20137 \u2192 Collect 1 Finance tokens per turn<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roll 8\u201312 \u2192 Collect 2 Finance tokens per turn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you roll 8-K from Occupation Deck\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Roll 2\u20137 \u2192 Collect 2 Finance tokens per turn<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roll 8\u201312 \u2192 Collect 3 Finance tokens per turn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place your tokens in the Finance section of your player tablet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Decide First Puller<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Roll dice to determine who draws from the Event Deck first.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The highest roll goes first.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If there\u2019s a tie, tied players re-roll until a winner is determined.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Event Deck draws proceed clockwise from the first puller.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Game Rounds<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each round represents one year of life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the start of each round:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Every player collects their yearly Finance tokens based on their original income roll.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The designated first puller draws the top card from the Event Deck and follows the instructions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The rest of the players draw cards in turn, moving clockwise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prompts may impact Finances, Skills, Friendships, or Hobbies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If a player has no tokens in category but must lose token\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Take from finance category<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Keep pulled cards in front of each player as these will represent years until retirement<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The years a player works will be important in determining points at the ned of the game<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6. Rotating First Puller<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At the end of each round, the player to the left of the previous first puller becomes the new first puller.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>7. Roll the dice when prompted by card:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each player rolls two six-sided dice (2d6).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your total roll determines the amount of tokens:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Roll 2\u20135 \u2192 Collect\/lose 2 tokens<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roll 6\u20139 \u2192 Collect\/lose 3 tokens<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roll 10-12 \u2192 Collect\/lose 4 tokens<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place your tokens in the corresponding section of your player tablet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How to Win<\/strong> (<em>Only one of the six paths needs to be achieved<\/em>):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gain 25 Finance tokens&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gain 15 Relationship tokens<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gain 10 Hobbies tokens<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gain 10 Time tokens<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gain a pair of (any two) categories of at least 8 tokens each (min 15 finance tokens)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gain a combo of (at least) 5 tokens per each of 4 categories&nbsp; (min 15 finance tokens)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Once a player meets the criteria to retire, this player gets to live out the rest of their days how they please (stop playing the game).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The game continues for the remaining players until there is a winner between the last two.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All of the players who reached retirement are rewarded points.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Points System:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Last player to retire is rewarded 25 points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The player(s) who reaches maximum tokens gained in 1 category (1 through 4) is rewarded 50 points.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The player(s) who reaches retirement by winning a pair of categories (5) is rewarded 75 points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The player(s) who wins by combo (6) is rewarded 100 points<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Multiply Years Worked<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At the end of the game, players multiply their points by how many years worked allowing players who gained less points but worked longer to catch up<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sample Events:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Player picks up a 8 Hearts\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Event: You launch a small online business<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Effect: Gain 1 Finance token from another player or lose 1 Time token<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Player picks up a 4 Diamond\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Event: You become unmotivated&nbsp; this year after a death in the family<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Effect: Gain 1 Time token, lose 1 Hobby token<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sample Career:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Player picks up a K\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Career: Doctor\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Roll dice to determine income and prompt\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Roll 8\u201312\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prompt: You are the most sought after plastic surgeon in the world who has rejuvenated countless celebrities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Income: Collect 3 Finance tokens per turn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roll 2-7\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prompt: You found public healthcare to be your passion and traded a large salary for helping the underserved.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Income: Collect 2 Finance tokens per turn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Debrief Questions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Were the rules of the game and how to win the game clear?&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Did you enjoy the game?&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Was the game balanced enough?
