T.R.I.G is a short, geometry-based math learning game. If you’re frustrated with worksheets and problem sets, T.R.I.G offers a lighthearted retro world you can explore while brushing up on basic formulae. T.R.I.G is appropriate for all ages, but is targeted for students just beginning their introduction to finding areas and measuring distances in geometry.
In T.R.I.G, students control a robotic fish (also called Trig) and try and take down an evil corporation using the skills they’ve learned in math class. This demo includes 3 levels where basic geometry skills are tested. Try and collect as many coins as possible!
(tested on Google Chrome)
INFORMATION FOR TEACHERS: Trig is designed as a short 10-15 minute experience to introduce children to gameful mathematics learning. It’s recommended that students watch the introductory video first, then be allowed to spend as much time as they like exploring the game. The level of math involved is elementary geometry- finding the areas of squares and triangles, so it should be introduced shortly after these concepts. After the game, hold a class discussion asking about where students see geometry in video games and in the world around them. System requirements are low- any computer that can run Google Chrome will likely run T.R.I.G. An internet connection is required, but a fast one is not needed.
